Ashley's Beer & Grill, Award-Winning Ann Arbor Tradition, Announces Openings in Westland and Woodhaven
Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) December 28, 2007 -- Ashley's Restaurants, Ltd announces the opening of two new Ashley's restaurants, at 7525 Wayne Rd in Westland (phone: (734) 525-1667) and 23450 Allen Rd in Woodhaven (phone: (734) 671-3066). The expansion is the first for Ashley's Beer & Grill, an award-winning gathering and dining place in downtown Ann Arbor for almost 25 years.
The new Ashley's locations boast full, updated menus featuring hand-cut steaks and fresh ingredients from Michigan providers. Much of Ashley's unique appeal is due to its rotating selection of over 100 beers and ales, with over 20 varieties on tap. The brews are individually selected from breweries around the world and throughout the United States, including several Michigan microbreweries.
The market for craft beers in Michigan is seeing explosive growth, with a 40 percent increase in sales in 2007. In the view of Rick Lack, Executive VP of Rave Associates, Ashley's is a pioneer in the craft brew revolution in Michigan.
"Michigan is behind other states in its support of local brewers," says Lack. "30 percent of the beer sold in Oregon is produced in Oregon. For Michigan, it is only 1.5 percent. Yet Michigan has many great brewers such as Bell's, Arbor, and Arcadia. In terms of local market share, Michigan beers have only begun to scratch the surface. With a reputation for excellence in microbrews and imported selections, Ashley's has emerged as a leader in promoting Michigan beers." Jeff More, President of Ashley's, noted "We go back to when Larry Bell himself was delivering kegs with his pick-up truck. Now Bell's is a major, regional brewer."
Ashley's Beer & Grill's awards include WDIV/Channel 4 "Best of" in 2007, Hour Detroit in 2006, and Detroit News "Best Wings" in 2005. Summing up the glowing feedback received from many customers, one recent guest remarked, "Ashley's is the ultimate destination for great beer."
According to Mark Rompf, General Manager of Ashley's in Woodhaven, there's plenty of reason for customers' enthusiastic response. "There is simply nothing else like Ashley's Beer & Grill in the downriver area," says Rompf. "It's not just the number of beers we offer---it's the variety of styles and ever-changing selection. At Ashley's, there's always something new."
